Creston School students are responsible, well-mannered children who are ready for the upper grades and know how to excel. Creston School focuses on student-centered, individualized instruction with small class sizes, a literacy-based curriculum, and high standards for staff and students.

About Our School

Creston School is located below the Swan Mountain range in Creston, just east of Kalispell, Montana. We are a K-6 school focusing on student-centered, individualized instruction with small class sizes, a literacy-based curriculum, and high standards for staff and students.

The main school building was built in 1906 and since then additions have been made to accommodate more classrooms, a library and a gym.  Enrollment has increased over the past few years and currently stands at 102 students (2018).

The district has defined the following educational goals
for each student to be provided with an opportunity to:

  • Develop proficiency in basic academic skills
  • Obtain necessary skills and knowledge to utilize information from a variety of sources in order to understand, evaluate, and solve real-world problems
  • Develop and strengthen effective problem-solving skills
  • Effectively communicate ideas and information to others
  • Recognize and apply foundations for a healthy mind and body
  • Develop a feeling of success in the school setting
  • Relate effectively and positively with others
  • Understand that a world view includes a variety of political and economic systems.
